The Beagle is a small to medium-sized breed known for its friendly, curious, and outgoing nature.
Originally bred as hunting dogs, Beagles have an excellent sense of smell, making them great companions for active owners or those who enjoy outdoor activities.
The breed’s keen hunting instincts and sociable disposition make them both intelligent and adaptable, allowing them to thrive in various environments—from city apartments to countryside homes.
Despite their small size, Beagles are energetic dogs that enjoy being involved in family activities and are often seen as loyal companions with a strong sense of adventure.
Our dog insurance plans offer coverage for up to 90%* of eligible vet bills, a 21-day cooling-off period, friendly customer service, and the added perk of 2 months free on any new pet insurance plans.
Beagles are playful, friendly, and energetic dogs, known for their love of exploration and keen sense of smell.
They are affectionate, typically getting along well with children, other dogs, and even strangers. Beagles thrive on social interaction and tend to be very vocal, using a distinctive howl to communicate. Their compact size and strong, muscular build make them sturdy and able to keep up with active families.
However, their independent nature, often linked to their hunting background, means they can sometimes be stubborn, which may require patient training.
Beagles also need regular exercise to burn off their abundant energy, and although they have short coats, they benefit from consistent grooming to keep them healthy.
